The wedding celebration of Dan and Jamie took place February 2 at the beautiful Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church in Troy.

I’ve known Jamie for a super long time. We met when I was sophomore in high school and I started working at Fashion Bug and she was my manager! Pretty crazy! Who knew some time later I’d be photographing her wedding celebration?!

She has two sweet little ones – Danny and Vanessa – that I’ve been photographing along the way as well.

But it was especially wonderful when she called to tell me last fall that she and Dan had gotten married! So of course I had to be at the celebration and document it!

They were one of the most laid-back couples I’ve ever photographed. I don’t think I  saw either one of them without a smile on their faces all night long!

Steven was a 2013 Spokes Model for McDonald Photography, so we not only got together last year for a quick mini session, but met up in Fenton to finish his senior photos.

And let me tell you, we must have picked THE coldest day to work with. The poor guy. He was a trooper and we got some pretty awesome images for him and his family

Mason has to be one of the happiest babies I’ve ever photographed! I’ve seen him quite a bit during the last year and each time he’s always full of smiles for me! What a sweetheart!

Mason’s dad was such a trooper and helped me haul this chair up and out of my studio so we could take a few photos outside Well worth the effort I’d say?

His mom brought along the cutest props for his first birthday session and some of the cutest monster-themed clothing! I love it!

 

Michelle and Jason were overjoyed to welcome their first, sweet baby in March

Not only did we get together to take some maternity photos before she made her debut, but I photographed Jason and Michelle’s wedding several years back. It was so awesome to see them again and cuddle little Jillian at just 17 days old!

It’s that time of year again – high school senior spokes model time!

I always have THE best time with my models and this year has been no exception!

I’m going to have to apologize in advance for the length of this post  – it’s going to be SUPER long!

Silly me, seems I forgot to blog this lovely couple’s engagement session and I’m just now getting around to blogging their wedding – so here it goes – a SUPER DUPER TWOFER!

Sarah and Patrick were so awesome! They were a blast to photograph and their wedding was not only absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful, it was so much fun. Since it was held on New Years Eve how could it not be fun, right?!

But here I go again, getting ahead of myself! Before their big day, we got together in early November to take some engagement photos at Van Hoosen Farm in Rochester Hills. Awesome location by the way

Now, on to the wedding!

Both the ceremony and reception were held at 30 North in downtown Pontiac. OMG is all I can say. Built in the historic era of the roaring twenties, 30 North has long been associated with the banking and financial industry. Many of its historic architectural characteristics and details were all preserved: the wall mounted Community National Bank logo, original marble-top banking tables and floors, original vault and safety deposit boxes, even the President’s office upstairs with its original cork flooring. Gorgeous.

The wedding details themselves were unique and one-of-a-kind as well. Sarah was a true do-it-yourselfer. Everything from her centerpieces, guest cards, decorations, programs, and other goodies – she made herself. Even her wedding dress was an updated version of her mother’s gown, which was worn in the 1970s.

How can anyone resist taking a quick peek at Kadyn’s newborn photos?! What a sweetie!

At just 12 days old she was a champ and slept so peacefully for her session. We only had to take one quick snack break and she was back in the game like a champ!

I definitely got in lots of snuggles before I finished her photo shoot. I couldn’t resist! But who could? Just look at that sweet face …

Brandon made my job super easy! We met up at Van Hoosen Farm a few months to take his senior photos. Getting ready to graduate from Henry Ford II High School in Utica, Brandon wasn’t bothered at all by the chilly weather.

I had a lot of fun walking around the grounds of the farm with him and his family while we took his photos.

Anyone that follows my blog will recognize this beautiful lady.

About once a year I get to work with a wonderfully, talented model, known as Brittany Dyan. I love collaborating with her – she always has wonderful ideas and I really think we work well together!

This first image of her recently received my first blue ribbon merit award from the Detroit Professional Photographer’s Association back in November 2012. I’m a proud girl

We met up a few months back to work on a few new projects – she’s always up for anything! I’m happy she thinks of me as one of her favorite photographers!
