Detroit goes to the dogs

Today I had the chance to go to the Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show at Cobo Hall in Detroit. It was a blast! There were over 2,500 dogs there, although I couldn’t even imagine how long it would take to see them all! My step mother-in-law was showing her six-month-old French Bulldogs Martha and George, who just happen to be brother and sister. It gave me the opportunity to practice with my new lenses – the 85mm 1.8 and my 70-200 mm 2.8! What a ball!

In the agility ring – a popular favorite among fans. It’s quite exciting!

Here’s George before he went into the ring, receiving second place in his class!

A BEAUTIFUL Dalmatian. I just couldn’t resist taking her picture. I have to get this photo off to her owner – isn’t she gorgeous?

Here’s Martha – who won first place in her class – go Martha!

More agility: (I figured out it’s pretty hard to photograph dogs when they’re moving that fast!)

The show is still taking place tomorrow Sunday, March 2, so check out www.detroitkennelclub.com for more info!
