Well I was inspired tonight after attending a workshop put on by the Detroit Professional Photographers’ Association featuring Jerry Ghionis, an amazing Australian photographer.
He’s received a ton of awards, including being named as one of the Top Ten Wedding Photographers in the world by American Photo magazine in 2007, and named “Icon of Imaging” by Microsoft.
Also in 2007, he was the only photographer outside the U.S. to be named an Icon and is one of 13 people in the world to be included in the coveted list of photography pioneers. Jerry won an unprecedented 4 out of the last 5 International Wedding Album of the Year Awards at W.P.P.I. (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) as well as winning his fourth Grand Award in five years which no one else has achieved in the 26 year history of the W.P.P.I.
Pretty amazing huh?
Again it was a wonderful experience, like just about every workshop I attend with the DPPA, and I took home a pile of information and a load of new ideas to further my budding career.
You can see some of his amazing work at his site: https://www.jerryghionis.com/
He also has a new blog: the i.c.e. Society.
I tried my hand at some new affects after his amazing motivation. Although this isn’t quite Ghionis caliber, I thought it was pretty neat
Let me know what you think!
